Ashburnham and Penhurst are situated in beautiful countryside, 5 miles from Battle.

 

We meet at 7.30pm on the third Monday each month

in Ashburnham Village Hall, Brownbread Street, Ashburnham

Christine Ward will give a talk /slide show about how Fairtrade seeks to transform the lives of disadvantaged producers in the developing world. She will bring along some food, crafts, jewellery and hand crafted paper items which members may purchase.

Researching local/family history

Office at County Hall in Lewes will speak aElizabeth Hughes from the Archives bout how they assist people with research into local and family history.

Alan Petty 

(A local author and resident )

Alan has written 8 novels and 2 biographies. He will tell us how he goes about his writing, came to have his books published and what it is like being a writer these days.

 

June 15th

Beech Estate/Social

Keith Datchler (Manager of Beech Estate?) will give a guided wildflower walk, followed by the history of Bunces Barn, and the recent work carried out there.  (Please check spelling of Bunces)

 

July 20th

Travel - Mr John Proctor - A talk and slide show describing Mr Proctors experiences of camping and Trekking in Nepal.

RNLI

A representative will discuss all aspects of the work carried out by the RNLI.

Anderida Adolescent School 

A talk by Erica Scott the Operational Director of Anderida Adolescent Care in Eastbourne, which is an organisation caring for troubled adolescents who have emotional and behavioral difficulties.
