3rd Monday of every month at 7.30pm

What we do

We also run a Book Club, a Theatre Group and enjoy Family Walks.

Visitors are always welcome.

Samaritans or Chocolate? - Beating the January Blues
Dee Comer from the Samaritans will explain the work of this vital charity, followed by refreshments and chocolate fountain.
15 February
The History of Ashburnham Place
We will be joined by Rhod Jones who will share his extensive knowledge about the fascinating history of Ashburnham Place and the family who lived there.
15 March

The Life & Works of Rudyard Kipling
Gary Enstone from Batemans will talk about the interesting life of local author Rudyard Kipling.

19 April
Say 'Cheese'
David & Eleanor Robbins will guides us through a delicious evening of cheese tasting.
17 May
Resolution Meeting & C.I. Patrick Hamby (RSPCA)
Following our vote on WI resolutions, Patrick Hamby from the RSPCA will talk about the important work of this well known animal welfare charity.
21 June
Party in the Barn
To celebrate our 3rd birthday, we are planning a BBQ at Little Sprays Oast with an open invitation to all the ladies of Ashburnham & Penhurst.
19 July
Trug Making
Local trug maker, Charlie Groves, will show us how these traditional and popular garden baskets are made.
16 August
The Bat Lady
Join us for a very informative talk by Jenny Clarke (The Bat Lady).  She will dispel some of the popular myths surrounding bats and tell us why they are so special.
28 August Flower Show and Village Fete
We will again be organising the fete to run alongside the gardening club's Flower Show.
20 September
Lighthouse Bakery School
Liz Weisbert, Head Baker, will share some of her knowledge and tips about the art of bread making.
18 October
Glyndebourne
Put your pearls on girls, Glyndebourne is coming to Ashburnham!  Miss Julia Aries will give an illustrated talk about 'The birth and early years of the Festival at Glyndebourne'.
15 November
Annual Meeting & Christmas Cracker Making
After the business of voting in our new committee, we will be teaching ourselves the art of Christmas cracker making and enjoying some Christmas cheer.

20 December

There is no meeting scheduled for December.
However, as in previous years, the Ash Tree Inn will be organising the village carol singing and we would be pleased to see members, friends and family there.
