WHEN:
Monday 8th March 2010 at 10.15a.m. If you have any white shirts/t-shirts please wear, it will mark a symbol of peace, for the meeting on the bridge.
WHERE:
The precinct Lewes by the bridge over the River Ouse - then on to the Assembly Room, Lewes Town Hall, for approximately 11a.m. for refreshments courtesy of Neville W.I. £1 entrance fee.
WHY:
2010 is the Millennium Development Goals 10-year summit review and we want the international community to make sure women's empowerment does not get forgotten. The W.I. wants to continue raising awareness of the UK public to share our concern that the needs of the poor are not being met, particularly in developing countries.
WHAT (happens):

11.00 - 11.10 Walk up to Town Hall
11.10 - 11.40 Refreshments Raffle
11.40 - 12.10 Watch the Oxfam DVD titled 'Sisters of the Planet'.
12.10 - 12.40 Talk by Sybil Oldfield titled 'Some Inspiring Forerunners; Women who Reached Women before us'.
12.40 – 1.10 Talk by Abigail Petit from Gossypium Textiles titled’ Joining Women’s Skills Across the World’. Abigail’s company is an ongoing living example of how to empower women.
Conclusion
Transportation to Lewes:
Frequent trains from Brighton, Eastbourne and beyond
Buses every 15 minutes from Brighton to Lewes Bus Station opposite Waitrose
