What we do

Our Motto for 2017 – taken from a WI Membership card dated 1918.  “To do all the good we can, in every way we can, to all the people we can; and above all to study household good in any work which makes for the betterment of our home, the advancement of our people, and the good of our country.”

We have an Art Group which meets every Monday 10 – 12 noon  at various venues.  We paint and chat, and chat and paint.

We are always very pleased to welcome visitors to our meetings, so do come along to join us.

Summary of Events 2013

2013 was a happy and lucky year for Chiddingly WI.  We won the County 300 club and the Castle group bursary; Linda and Jose gained 2nd prize with the ‘scrap dragon’

Members attended the East Sussex council meeting and we hosted the group meeting.  Our own new year party and the group’s Christmas gathering were both happy occasions.  Members and friends staged a ‘Coronation’ flower festival and Jean organised cream teas at the church fete.  The church was also the venue for a painting exhibition staged by the WI Barnabas group.  We discussed resoltions after an enjoyable lunch at the Six Bells.  Our speakers entertained us with ‘Grandma’s Tales’, 1960’s farming, the Bonfire Boys and a tale of one of the ‘little ships’  Our WI was pleased to donate £500 towards the village hall refurbishment.  Even the sun shone at our Garden Party………..  Happy Days.
