Members of Little Common WI were in party mood at their March meeting when they held a birthday party to celebrate 59 years since their formation. To start the celebrations, actor and singer Richard Ratcliffe provided a highly entertaining mixture of music and showbiz memories from his many years appearing on stage, TV and radio. Richard performed a number of his favourite songs and delighted the ladies by ending with a chorus of ‘happy birthday’, a fitting choice to mark the special occasion. During the short business meeting members were notified of forthcoming events, including the Little Common WI’s Spring Fair to be held on 29 April at St Martha’s Hall. The meeting rounded up with a delicious afternoon tea buffet and prize raffle. We were pleased to welcome a number of new members to this meeting as well as specially invited guests from other WIs, including Gill Nokes, Chairman of ESFWI.
