The MCS (Membership Communication System) is an important tool used to keep correct and up-to-date records of every member. When a new member joins, her details should be entered onto the MCS and once this is done, she will be sent her new member’s welcome pack and begin receiving WI Life. It is also important that each WI has the correct information listed for its Secretary to ensure the WI does not miss out on National mailings, voucher books and raffle tickets.
All WIs are encouraged to appoint an MCS Rep to look after their records and there is a useful help guide in the WIST (WI Support Team) page on this website. If you do not have an MCS Rep, contact the office with the member’s details and they will be pleased to help you.
Don’t forget that lapsed members must be marked as inactive and there is also a function to allocate roles to members.
The MCS is also used to gain individual access to the WI Moodle by making the member an ‘online learner’.
