An intensive fun day workshop with the opportunity to learn two basket weaving techniques in one session! In the morning ‘Stake and Strand’ – working with freshly cut willow learn how to weave a base and sides to form an attractive basket with a decorative border. In the afternoon learn the technique of ‘coiling ‘ and create a basket using recycled small balls of tapestry wools or different coloured raffia. Step by Step tuition and one to one support throughout the whole day – with plenty of recapping!  Participants need to bring on the day £18 to cover willow and other materials. You will need to bring with you a sharp pair of secateurs, various size knitting needles, wooden pegs , a kitchen weight or large pebble ( to weigh down your bases while you work on the sides of the basket), scissors, small balls of various coloured tapestry wools ( bright colours particularly suitable) and a large eyed tapestry needle.
