About Us
We are a friendly, quite informal group, always happy to welcome new members.
We have just celebrated our centenary, last January 2018, so this is our 101th year.
We have around 30 members which is good for a village of our size, but we have plenty of room for more!
What we do
We try to arrange a variety of talks/outings for our yearly programme, and are always trying to find different topics that we hope will be of interest. Recently we had the Medical Detection Dogs charity come and give a fantastic and enlightening talk on the work they do to train dogs to either use their awesome sense of smell to detect various illnesses from samples or to become life companions to someone who needs their special ability to detect when that person is going to have an episode.
Beckley WI provides catering at the monthly farmers market, which is held on the second Saturday of the month, again at the Village Hall from 10am to 12pm.
We also do the catering for the annual Church fete held normally on the August Bank Holiday Monday, and the 10k run in November. We take our turn for the Church monthly coffee mornings.
